China Classification Society (CCS) has published Guidelines for Survey of Anti-fouling Systems on Ships.
This document became effective on 1 February 2023.
The purpose of the Guidelines is to establish relevant requirements for surveys of anti-fouling systems on ships and to ensure that ships and the anti-fouling systems applied comply with the applicable requirements.
The Guidelines are applicable to surveys of ships applying for the issuance and/or endorsement of an anti-fouling system certificate and to surveys of ships applying for the CCS "AFS/AFS+" class notation of the environmental protection sub-elements for green eco-ships.
There are two annexes attached to this document:
Annex 1 - Methods for Sampling and Analysis of Anti-fouling Systems
Annex 2 - Amendments to the International Convention on the Control of Harmful Anti-fouling Systems on Ships, 2001.
