The Chemical Distribution Institute has published a "best practice" document about the dosing of a ship's cargo tanks.
The objective of this document is to offer comprehensive guidelines for the dosage of cargo tanks on ships, with the goal of improving procedural safety.
It is intended for use by Vessel Masters, inhibitor manufacturers, cargo manufacturers, suppliers, charterers, cargo surveying companies, and any other stakeholders involved in the dosing process.
This paper aims to provide recommendations for enhancing procedural safety.
It does not supersede any international or national regulations, a company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), or Safety Management Systems (SMS).
It incorporates commonly practiced industry standards and evaluations to establish optimal working methods and maintain a secure working environment during the dosing of a ship's cargo tanks.
This document was published on 31 January 2023.
