DNV revises its rules for offshore drilling and support units, effective 1 January 2024

Classification Society DNV has revised its rules for offshore drilling and support units.

This document (DNV-RU-OU-0101), was published on 1 July 2023 and will enter into force on 1 January 2024. It supersedes the July 2022 edition.

The publication introduces DNV rules for classifying offshore units, drilling and support units, and outlines the terms and procedures involved in assigning classification.

It also includes a list of applicable technical references for classification purposes.

Classification Society DNV has revised its rules for floating production, storage and loading units, effective from 1 January 2024.

This document focuses on the classification of mobile offshore units with various structural design types, namely ship-shaped units, column-stabilised units, and cylindrical units.

It covers multiple services such as drilling, well intervention, accommodation, heavy-lifting, wind turbine installation, and general offshore support.
