Hong Kong issues notices for marine works

Hong Kong has issued two Marine Department notices informing mariners of site investigation and marine works, as well as disclosing the work hours and locations.

Marine Site Investigation at Tsing Lung Tau, involving sampling of subsea soil and drilling of boreholes, will be carried out for approximately two months. The works will be carried out by two jack-up barges and one work boat and yellow flashing lights will be installed at the four corners of each barge to indicate its position.

Marine Works at North-eastern Corner of New Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter will be carried out for approximately 12 months. The works will involve the delivery of prefabricated segments by a crane barge and one tugboat. The establishment of the additional layer of silt curtains by one work boat will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines.

Working hours will be from 08h to 18h and no work will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.
