International Maritime Organization (IMO) has issued a warning to all IMO Members, Intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations in consultative status of a serious and immediate threat to the safety and security of crews and vessels operating in the region, particularly in the north-western part of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
In the Circular Letter number 4524/Add.1, the Secretary-General expressed his deep concern about the spillover effects of the military action in Ukraine on global shipping, logistics and supply chains.
The Letter points out that IMO is continuing to liaise closely with all key stakeholders in the region and to contribute to attempts to address the safety and security of shipping in this area.
