IRClass: Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers, July 2023 edition

Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has published the Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers, and the Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers - Volume 1.

The Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers was published on 1 June 2023, and the Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers - Volume 1 was published on 1 July 2023.

Both documents are in force from 1 July 2023.

These regulations are relevant to the following types of vessels:

  • Single-side skin and double-side skin bulk carriers with a length equal to or exceeding 90 m.
  • Double hull oil tankers with a length equal to or exceeding 150 m.

An oil tanker is defined as a vessel required to adhere to Annex I of MARPOL73/78.

These rules pertain to self-propelled ships with unrestricted navigational capabilities.
