Marshall Islands issues advisory on the ship security pre-arrival information required by the Netherlands
The Republic of the Marshall Islands Maritime Administrator, on 5 April 2023 issued an advisory about the ship security pre-arrival information required by the Netherlands.
This document is addressed to all ship owners, operators, masters, nautical inspectors, and recognized security organizations.
The Netherlands is enforcing the requirement for the submission of ship security pre-arrival information in accordance with Chapter XI-2/9 of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and Article 6.1 of Regulation (EC) No. 725/2004.
All ships to which the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code applies calling at ports in the Netherlands are required to submit the pre-arrival information by using the European Union (EU) Maritime Security (MARSEC) Ship Security Pre-Arrival Form (MARSEC Doc 0508) through the electronic maritime single window.
Records of this information must be kept for the last 10 calls at port facilities.
Failure to submit the required pre-arrival information accurately and on time may result in delays, denial of entry into the port, or a security inspection after arriving at the port.
The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Maritime Administrator advises RMI-flagged vessels to comply with these requirements, including, as applicable, in the ports of other EU Member States.
