MSC Approves Several Draft Amendments to SOLAS and Related Codes
Maritime Safety Committee (MSC), at its 105th session, which was held from 20th to 29th April 2022, approved draft amendments to Chapter II-2 of SOLAS, as well as a draft new Chapter XV. Draft amendments were also approved for the Protocol of 1978 relating to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).

Other draft amendments approved at this session include IGC Code, IGF Code and ESP Code, with a view to adoption at the 106th session, scheduled for 2 to 11 November 2022, while draft amendments to IBC Code are subject to concurrent approval by the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC), which, at its seventy-seventh session (22 to 26 November 2021), approved those draft amendments with a view to adoption at MEPC 78.
