Panama Canal announces immediate draft adjustment for Neopanamax Locks

The Panama Canal Authority issued an advisory to shipping No. A-26-2024 to all shipping agents, vessel owners, and operators regarding a draft adjustment for vessels using the Neopanamax Locks.

Effective immediately, the maximum allowable draft for vessels transiting these locks has been set at 14.94 meters (49.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW). This decision has been made based on the current and anticipated water levels of Gatun Lake over the coming weeks.

The ACP will continue to monitor the situation and may announce further adjustments as needed.
