ReCAAP releases latest guidebook on recognizing fishing vessels in Asian waters

The Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) has published the second version of the Guide Book on Identification of Fishing Boats in Asian Waters Spread.

This version 2 was issued on 1 March 2024.

The guidebook helps ship crews identify and deal with piracy in Asian waters. Small boats often disguise near fishing vessels for attacks. The book provides pictures and information on different fishing boats to help crews stay vigilant. Larger boats may act as bases for attacks, and accurate descriptions of attacker vessels are crucial for investigations. Crews should use the guide, report incidents promptly.

Both the Regional Guide [Version 2] as well as poster can be found on: www.recaap.org
