RINA releases rules for certifying commercial inflatable boats for tender services

Classification Society RINA has issued rules for the certification of commercial inflatable boats for tender services.

2. Definitions: Key terms like "Tender service" and "Parent ship" are defined.
3. Risk Assessment: Evaluations must consider various factors such as sea conditions, distance from the parent ship, and navigation visibility.
4. Construction and Equipment: Inflatable boats must adhere to recognized international standards and carry essential safety equipment like navigational tools, communication systems, and life-saving devices.
5. Parent Ship Requirements: The parent ship's refueling systems and storage of inflatable boats must adhere to safety standards.
6. Operational Requirements: Procedures for manning, pollution prevention, safety briefings, launch and recovery, training, and maintenance are outlined.
7. Inspection and Test: Annual inspections and operational tests are required to ensure the boats' integrity and functionality.
