RMRS amends Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) has issued amendments to its Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships. The amendments include changes to Part XII and Part XVII of the Rules.

Part XII of the Rules had changes introduced to Paragraph 8.2.3. with the requirements for insulation of refrigerant piping penetrating spaces of specially equipped fish processing shops having been specified.

Part XVII, Paragraph 7.11.7 was amended by specifying the material requirements for chain cables.

The use of anchor and mooring chain cables of category 1 is not permitted. The material for anchor and mooring chain cables shall comply with the requirements of 3.6 and Section 7 of Part XIII "Materials", as well as with the Register approved standards and/or with the Register agreed specifications. The maximum impact test temperature is equal to –20 °C.

The amendments to Part XVII entered into force on the 15th of September 2022, while the amendments to Part XII enter into force on 01 October 2022.
