Russian Register amends the Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) has issued multiple Circular Letters amending their Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships. Some of the amendments have already become effective, so users to whom the provisions apply are encouraged to implement the changes as soon as possible.

Circular Letter No. 312-09-1758c dated 12.05.2022

Due to deletion of IACS Unified Requirement (UR) M69 last March, Parts I "Classification", VII "Machinery Installations" and XVII "Distinguishing Marks and Descriptive Notations in the Class Notation Specifying Structural and Operational Particulars of Ships" have been amended by deletion of paragraphs 3.2.1.6, 3.3.1.5 and Section 11, while Paragraph 8.3.1.2 has been replaced.

The amendments became effective on 15 May 2022.

Circular Letter No. 312-09-1760c dated 18.05.2022

New Paragraph 2.2.50 has been introduced to Part I of the Rules, as well as a new item 2.34 being introduced to Table 2.5. A new Section 23 was introduced to Part XVII containing requirements for ships equipped to use methanol and ethanol as fuel. The amendments enter into force on 01 July 2022.

Circular Letter No. 314-18-1761c dated 18.05.2022

Amendments introduced by Circular Letter No. No. 314-18-1761c make changes to to Part III ʺEquipment, Arrangements and Outfitʺ. Multiple paragraphs have been amended and the changes become effective on 15 June 2022.

Circular Letter No. 312-09-1762c dated 18.05.2022

Paragraphs 3.5.3.3.8 and 15.2.5.5 of Part XVII have been amended by specification of the requirements for the equipment of ships in compliance with distinguishing marks ECO and ЕСО-S in the class notation, as well as alignment of text with the Russian version of the Rules.

The amendments become effective on 01 July 2022.

Circular Letter No. 314-26-1765c dated 19.05.2022

Amendments were introduced to Part I "Classification" and Part IV "Stability" of the Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships. Several requirements have been introduced or specified, and Chapter 3.4 was revised considering IACS UI LL59 (Corr.1 Feb 2022).

Circular Letter No. 313-69-1769c dated 19.05.2022

Circular Letter No. 314-26-1765c extensively amended Parts VIII and IX of the Rules in connection with coming into force of IACS Unified Requirements (UR) M56, M77, M78, P2.7.4, P2.12 and P2.13. The amendments become effective on July 1st 2022.

Circular Letter No. 315-22-1771c dated 23.05.2022

Paragraphs 2.2.2.9, 15.4.2 and 16.8.4.19 of Part XI were amended. Requirements for cable laying, for heating capacity of system utilizing heating cables and for cables laid on the open deck of the ship and masts have been specified, respectively.

The amendments enter into force on 01 July 2022.
