SIRE 2.0 Conditions of Participation, Policies and Procedures published by OCIMF

The Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) has published the SIRE 2.0 Conditions of Participation, Policies and Procedures.

The SIRE 2.0 Inspection Programme has introduced a revised inspection process, and all participants must adhere to the following requirements based on their roles: the OCIMF Programmes Code of Conduct, OCIMF Programmes Terms and Conditions, OCIMF Inspector Code of Ethics, SIRE 2.0 Conditions of Participation, SIRE 2.0 Policies and Procedures, and the relevant guidance and instruction documents for SIRE 2.0.

The main guidance and instruction documents for SIRE 2.0 include the SIRE 2.0 Programme Introduction and Guidance, SIRE 2.0 Question Library Part 1 (Chapters 1 to 7), and SIRE 2.0 Question Library Part 1 (Chapters 8 to 12).

Participants responsible for the SIRE 2.0 Programme include submitting companies, vessel operators, inspectors, and programme recipients.

Regarding SIRE 2.0 policies and procedures, there are specific guidelines for inspection request, booking, and cancellation.

The SIRE 2.0 Inspection Management Processes for Submitting Company (Version 1.0) and Vessel Operator (Version 1.0) outline these procedures.

For inspection requests in SIRE 2.0, it is mandatory for a vessel operator to initiate the request in the SIRE system. Submitting companies cannot initiate inspection requests.

If a submitting company requires an inspection for a particular vessel, they should instruct the vessel operator to submit the request through the SIRE system, with only the submitting company nominated.

OCIMF utilizes various data points from the SIRE 2.0 process to track, analyze, and ensure excellence, guidance, and compliance.

This document was published on 28 June 2023. It is effective from 1 June 2023.
