Classification Society RINA has issued amendments to “RINA Rules for Classification of Ships”. The amendments are extensive and include changes to parts A, B, C, D, E and F.
Most of the changes are introduced due to amendments and/or revisions of IACS Unified Requirements (UR), such as the change to Chapter 1 of Part A to introduce IACS UR M74 (Rev 2 - Jun 2021) “Ballast Water Management Systems” and to Chapter 4 to introduce IACS UR Z16 (Rev.4 Corr.1 May 2022) “Periodical surveys of cargo installations on ships carrying liquefied gases in bulk”. Chapter 9 of Part B was amended to introduce IACS UR L4 (Rev 3, Corr 2) "Closure of Chain Lockers".
Part C was introduced with a number of IACS URs, such as the revised UR M44, UR M56, UR P2.7.4, UR M77 and others. Full amendment list can be viewed here.
The amendments become effective on 01 July 2022.
