China Classification Society (CCS) has published the Guidelines for Survey of Marine Wind-Rotor Assisted Propulsion System.
This document was published on January 30th, 2023, and came into force on February 1st, 2023.
These guidelines relate to sea-going ships that have wind-rotor-assisted propulsion systems.
This document specifies the technical requirements for the arrangement and design of the wind-rotor assisted propulsion system, power, electric system, the system for the supervision and control, strength and stability of the ship, noise, etc.
It also clarifies the requirements for the supervision of adequate equipment and proposes the methods of calculating the EEDDI, as well as the requirements for verification of ships installed with the wind-rotor-assisted propulsion system.
