Classification Society DNV has revised its Rules for Classification. The Rules contain procedural and technical requirements related to obtaining and retaining a class certificate.
Besides editorial corrections, the Rules were introduced to new requirements for flexible hoses and expansion bellows, for automatic shut down device and for testing of castings for propellers of steel and copper alloys.
Formulae for still water and dynamic bi-moment related to longitudinal warping stress were also amended and new design factors were introduced.
The amendments, inter alia, clarified that requirements for testing apply to all lifting appliances, clarified requirements for the mandatory corrosion tests, clarified the grade designation for the feedstock, for the additive manufactured material and clarified that roll and pitch angles for full load condition shall be used when determining bow impact pressure.
