DNV publishes its interpretations of SOLAS

Classification Society DNV has published statutory interpretations of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974 as amended.

This document has been published on December 1st, 2022, and entered into force on January 1st, 2023.

It supersedes DNV-SI-0364 issued in July 2021.

Interpretations of requirements in this document are given in those circumstances where there are no flag state requirements, IACS Uniform Interpretations, or other interpretations.

This DNV document only covers specific topics and should not under any circumstances be considered as DNV's complete interpretation of SOLAS.
