Guidelines for yielding strength assessment of type C independent tanks using LRFD criteria issued by CCS

China Classification Society (CCS) has published guidelines for the yielding strength assessment of type C independent tanks based on load-resistance factor design criteria.

The document specifies the general provisions, terms and abbreviations, LRFD for the use of limit state methodologies in the design of cargo containment systems, finite element yielding strength assessment of Type C independent tanks based on LRFD, and the scope of application. ​

It also provides information on the required analyses, ultimate limit state (ULS), accident limit states (ALS), and testing.

The document includes tables that outline the load combinations and partial load factors for different design conditions. ​

The stress criteria and assessment methods for stress singularity and strain are also discussed. ​
