International Maritime Organization has issued a new Circular Letter inviting Member States to upload and update information concerning their national facilitation committees and programmes in the new Global Integrated Shipping Information System (GISIS) database.
As approved by FAL 42, the new database in the Facilitation Module of GISIS was developed to collect information on National Facilitation Committees and programs, aimed at providing Member States with more comprehensive and up-to-date guidance to establish national and regional committees, in order to promote and coordinate measures to improve the facilitation of maritime transport.
Brief instructions on how to manage the data on the GISIS website are set out in the Circular Letter's annex.
