Korean Register (KR) has published a circular regarding amendments to the 2023 Classification Technical Rules.
Effective dates for various rule amendments are specified, including Rules for the Classification of Steel Ships (Parts 1 and 4) and Guidance for Approval of Manufacturing Process (MP) and Type.
Notable amendments include new requirements for penetration used for heat-sensitive piping systems on passenger ships and updates to stability code and rope breaking tests.
Amendments will be included in the 2024 edition for "Guidance for Approval of MP and TA" and the 2025 edition for "Rule Pt 1 and Pt 4" on KR Classification Technical Rules.
