The Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) has recently issued three instruction documents: Instructions for Completing the Pre-Inspection Questionnaire, Instructions for Uploading Certificates to the Certificate Repository and Negative Observation Module Explanation.
Ship Inspection Report (SIRE) Programme 2.0
OCIMF established the Ship Inspection Report (SIRE) Programme in 1993 and it has developed and grown in scope since then. In 2022 the programme was renamed SIRE 2.0 after a complete revision of the inspection process. This included requiring vessel operator to provide additional information through a Pre-inspection Questionnaire which in combination with the HVPQ would ensure that appropriate questions are assigned to each inspection and provide a more detailed inspection report.
The documents provide detailed instructions on the inspection process while minimising the time spent on reviewing certificates on board, allowing the inspection to focus on the identified risks.
All three documents become effective on 01 October 2022.
