The Panama Canal Authority has made an announcement regarding changes to the operational conditions.
Booking Condition 3 for the Panamax Locks will continue until Saturday, September 2, 2023.
The suspension of extraordinary auctions for both the Panamax Locks and Neopanamax locks will also be prolonged until September 2, 2023.
Additionally, from 0400 hours on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, until 1600 hours on Friday, September 1, 2023, scheduled maintenance will be carried out on the sidewall culvert of the West Lane in Gatun Locks.
During this period, the rising stem valves will undergo maintenance.
While the West Lane will remain operational, it's important to note that lockage will take longer than usual due to these maintenance activities.
This Advisory to Shipping (No. A-39-2023) was issued on 16 August 2023.
