The Panama Canal Authority has issued an advisory regarding the draft adjustment to 14.94 m (49.0 feet) TFW for the Neopanamax locks.
The document was published on 15 February 2023.
Based on the current and estimated levels of Gatun Lake the maximum authorized draft allowed for vessels transiting the Neopanamax locks will be 14.94 m (49.0 feet) TFW and the effective date is 15 March 2023.
Drafts that exceed 14.94 m (49.0 feet) TFW could be allowed to transit depending on the level of Gatun Lake at the time of transit. Otherwise, ships will be required to trim or off-load cargo.
