Publication on plastic pipelines on ships by PRS

The Polish Register of Shipping (PRS) has issued a publication 53/P - Plastic Pipelines on Ships.

The document was published on 29 May 2023 and it enters into force on 1 July 2023.

The publication replaces publication 53/P – Plastic Pipelines on Ships – July 2022.

This publication provides requirements for plastic pipelines and applies to relevant PRS Rules. It covers material, construction, installation, tests, and supervision requirements.

The requirements are specifically for piping systems predominantly made of non-metallic materials and do not permit the use of mechanical joints approved for metallic piping systems only.

Piping systems intended for non-essential services must comply with recognized standards and specific sections of this publication.
