Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) has amended The Guidelines on the Application of Provisions of the International Convention for Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973, as modified by the Protocol of 1978 relating thereto (MARPOL 73/78).
The present edition is based on the 2021 version of the Guidelines and the regulations of MARPOL Annexes I, II, IV, V and VI as amended, taking into account recommendations, procedural requirements (PR), unified requirements (UR) and unified interpretations (UI) of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) and relevant UI, resolutions and circulars of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Part II has been updated with requirements considering regulation 39.3 of Annex I to MARPOL 73/78, while Appendix 1, Section 5 has been amended due to cancellation of the Sanitary Rules for Sea-Going Vessels. Part VI has had multiple amendments, which entered into force on 1st of April 2022.
