The Polish Register of Shipping (PRS) has published the Rules for the Classification and Construction of Small Sea-Going Ships (Part I, Classification Regulations).
These Rules were published on 18 October 2023 and entered into force on 19 October 2023.
Application
These Rules are applicable to small sea-going ships with a length of less than 24 meters.
These regulations are intended for vessels engaged in restricted navigation within regions specified by these Rules.
It's important to note that these Rules do not pertain to passenger ships involved in international voyages, oil tankers, chemical tankers, or gas carriers.
This particular section of the Rules pertains to both ships currently under construction and those already in service.
Subject to PRS agreement, the Rules may also be extended to cover the classification of ships not explicitly mentioned above.
Detailed regulations concerning the scope of PRS surveys, survey procedures, the types of documents issued, and the approval procedures for plans and design data are provided in the PRS General Survey Regulations.
