Drommon Bureau of Shipping has informed ship owners, managers, and operators that the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has issued a circular, No (08) of 2023, which, with effect from 1 August 2023, adds Tanzanian-flagged ships to the current list of flag-state ships that are restricted from calling at UAE waters or ports unless classified by an IACS member, or by the Emirates Classification Service – TASNEEF.
The current list of flag states required by the UAE to be classified by an IACS member, or by TASNEEF is:
- Albania
- Belize
- Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
- Sao Tome and Principe
- Tonga
- Republic of Congo
- Equatorial Guinea
- United Republic of Tanzania (from 1 August 2023)
