United States Coast Guard has issued a marine safety information bulletin regarding the conclusion of COVID-19 public health and national emergencies.

The U.S. National Emergency to respond to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic ended on April 4, 2023. The Public Health Emergency issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) expired on May 11, 2023. Consequently, the mask requirement issued by the CDC for all persons travelling on commercial vessels entitled Requirements for Persons to Wear Masks while on Conveyances and at Stations, Ports, or Similar Transportation Hubs expired on May 11, 2023. The following MSIBs are no longer in effect:
Although COVID-19 specific requirements outlined in these MSIBs have sunsetted, the Coast Guard notes that all vessel, facility, and mariner requirements codified in the Code of Federal Regulations remain in effect.

Vessel owners and operators are still encouraged to monitor the CDC website for the most up-to-date post-pandemic guidance.
