Korean Register (KR) has published the Guidelines for Shaft Generators.
Document GL-0043-E was published on 03 January 2024.
This guideline provides criteria and information for vessels considering the installation of shaft generators.
The aim of this guideline is to guarantee the stability and dependability of shaft generators and their associated systems.
This guideline can be applied to pertinent specifications for shaft generators utilized in Power Take-Off (PTO) and/or Power Take-In (PTI) applications. Any aspects not explicitly outlined in this guideline should conform to the applicable requirements detailed in the Rules for the Classification of Steel Ships.
Chapter 1 outlines the requirements for submitting plans and data for review and approval, and Chapter 2 provides detailed instructions for the installation and operation of transformers, converters, and shaft generators, ensuring compliance with classification rules and standards.
