Polish Register of Shipping (PRS) has issued multiple publications during June as part of their half-year amendment sequence, two of which are their Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships and Rules for the Classification and Construction of High-Speed Craft.
The amended Part VII – Machinery, Boilers and Pressure Vessels of the Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships incorporates minor amendments to Paragraph 1.3.2.2 and 6.6.1, sourced from IACS Unified Requirements M44 and M56, both of which are coming into force July 1st 2022.
The Rules for the Classification and Construction of High-Speed Craft had several amendments introduced to its Part V – Fire Protection. Paragraphs 1.3.3, 1.4.2.2, 3.4.2.2, 5.1.4, 6.3.1.3.5 and 6.7.3.1 were updated with the reference to IMO Resolution A.1116 (30) for signs of escape routes to be used in Fire control plans.
Moreover, due to IACS Unified Interpretations HSC1 and HSC4 going out of date this July 1st, as well as deletion of UI HSC3, Paragraphs 2.3.2, 2.4.7 and 2.7.5 were amended.
All amendments become effective 01 July 2022.
